Estate planning, finally organized
One day, someone you love will need to know where everything is. Life & Death Planner walks you through it one simple question at a time, covering your accounts, documents, wishes, and who gets what. Then it shares everything with the right people at the right time.
Free at launch. iOS first, Android to follow.
What's inside
Eight guided sections cover the details families scramble to find, so yours won't have to.
Family members, emergency contacts, and where the important documents live.
Your doctors, medications, and medical history, ready when it counts.
Wills, trusts, powers of attorney, funeral wishes, your obituary, and final messages.
Bank accounts, retirement, investments, debts, and the advisors who manage them.
Life, health, home, auto, and long-term care. Every policy your family should know about.
Real estate, vehicles, jewelry, and collectibles, with photos, values, and who gets what.
Email, social media, subscriptions, and legacy contacts for your online life.
Pets, business interests, military records, education, and your family history.
How it works
You don't need to know where to start. The app always knows what matters next.
A guided flow asks simple questions in plain language, starting with what your family would need first. A few minutes at a time is enough. Skip anything; come back anytime.
Attach photos of your belongings, scan in wills and deeds, note where accounts live and who to call. Record who gets what, down to the ring and the toolbox.
Invite the people you trust. You decide exactly when each person can see your planner: right away, on a date, if you're incapacitated, or only after your death is verified.
Security & privacy
This app exists to protect your family, starting with your data.
Your data is encrypted in transit and protected by row-level security, so only you and the viewers you explicitly authorize can read your planner.
We never ask for your Social Security number or account passwords. You record where things live and how to get access the right way, not the secrets themselves.
Photos and documents live in private storage. There are no public URLs, and every link the app creates expires automatically.
Your planner contents are never sent to any AI service. Task suggestions come from simple logic on your device, so your data stays yours.
We don't sell your information and we don't run ads. Even crash reports are sent without your identity attached: no name, no email, no account linkage.
Export your full planner as a PDF whenever you like, and permanently delete your account and every piece of your data from inside the app.
Our story
Long before the app, the Life & Death Planner was a physical binder, a place where families wrote down everything their loved ones would need, page by page.
The app carries that same work in your pocket: guided, always up to date, and shareable with the people who will need it. Every section of the original binder is here, from funeral wishes to where the safe combination lives, organized so you can finish what most people put off forever.
What families say
"After my father passed, we spent eight months hunting for accounts and passwords. I never want my kids to go through that. This walked me through everything in a few weekends."
"My husband refused to talk about any of this for thirty years. The one-question-at-a-time approach finally got him to write it all down. I can't overstate the relief."
"I was named executor for my mother. Executor Mode told me exactly what to do in what order: death certificates, Social Security, the insurance calls. It was a lifeline."
Questions
Yes. Life & Death Planner is completely free, with every section, sharing, and PDF export included. If we ever introduce optional paid features, everything you've entered stays yours.
Protecting your information is the core of how the app is built. Your data is encrypted in transit, guarded by row-level security so only you and your authorized viewers can read it, and photos and documents live in private storage behind time-limited links. We never sell your data, we don't run ads, and your planner contents are never sent to any AI service. See our Privacy Policy for the full picture.
No, and that's deliberate. The app never asks for your SSN or your account passwords. Instead, you record where your card is kept and how your family can get access the right way (like each platform's official legacy tools). That way, the most dangerous secrets are never in the app to begin with.
People you designate confirm your death in the app. Access doesn't open on anyone's word alone. Once verified, each authorized viewer receives the access you assigned them, and your executor gets a step-by-step settlement checklist built from your planner. The same verified process applies if you chose to grant someone access on incapacity.
No. Life & Death Planner organizes your information and wishes so your family can find and carry them out, but it doesn't create or execute legal documents. For wills, trusts, and powers of attorney, work with a qualified attorney, then record where those documents live in your planner so they're findable when it counts.
Someone trusts you with what matters most to them. Download the app and create an account with the same email address the invitation was sent to. Their planner will be waiting for you, with whatever access and timing they chose.
Always. Export your entire planner as a binder-style PDF anytime, and permanently delete your account and all of your data from within the app (Settings → Delete Account). No emails, no phone calls, no retention games.
The app is the digital companion to the original Life & Death Planner physical binder. Use either, or both. The app's PDF export means you can always print a fresh, complete copy for the shelf.
